Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 26730BC Smoked Blue: Full Set, First Owner
The Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon arrived in 2020, the first time the Royal Oak was fitted with AP's in house calibre 2950, a movement previously reserved for the Code 11.59. This configuration, reference 26730BC.ZZ.1320BC.02, followed in 2023, first released as part of a white gold trilogy for the Japanese market before going global that summer. Of all the 26730 executions, it is the one that brings the most together in a single piece.
The smoked blue Grande Tapisserie dial fades from pale at the centre to deep blue at the edge, with baguette cut diamond hour markers and luminescent white gold Royal Oak hands. The bezel is channel set with 32 baguette diamonds, several cut to a trapezoidal shape so they follow the octagon without a break. At six o'clock, the tourbillon cage sits in its aperture with no upper bridge, leaving the complication fully open to view.
Design & Movement
The 41mm case and integrated bracelet are executed in 18k white gold, with the Royal Oak's signature alternation of brushed and polished surfaces. Inside runs the self winding calibre 2950: 270 components, a one minute flying tourbillon beating at 3Hz, and a 65 hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire caseback.
Provenance & Condition
Dating to 2023, this example comes from its first owner and presents in mint condition. It is offered as a full set, complete with box and papers.
