Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 25940SK Rubberclad

The 25940SK is the Offshore that swapped polished steel for rubber. The bezel, crown and pushers are clad in vulcanised rubber over the steel case, giving the Offshore a tool watch character it has not had in the same way since.

The 42mm steel case carries the Offshore proportions with the rubber bezel and its eight hexagonal screws. The black Méga Tapisserie dial holds three counters with the date at 3 o'clock. Inside is the automatic calibre 2226/2840 chronograph.

The Rubberclad has become one of the more distinctive references from that period of the Offshore, sought after by collectors who want something outside the standard steel and gold versions.

This example dates from 2008 and comes as a full set with box and papers, together with Audemars Piguet service papers. The piece remains in a condition close to unworn.
