Patek Philippe Aquanaut 5065A: Full Set, Freshly Serviced, Uncut Strap

The 5065A is the Aquanaut that got the proportions right. Where the original 5060 sat at 36mm on a case many owners found too modest, the 5065 arrived at 38mm with the tropical composite strap and clasp that would define the model for the next two decades. It is the reference that turned the Aquanaut from an experiment into a Patek collection in its own right.

This is a 2006 example, which puts it firmly in the Luminova era rather than tritium, with the embossed black dial and applied Arabic numerals reading exactly as they should. The detail worth flagging is the strap. It is uncut and long, increasingly rare on Aquanauts of this age and worth real money to anyone with a larger wrist or a preference for untouched originality. It has also just come back from Patek service and carries 24 months of international warranty, which removes the single largest unknown on a watch of this vintage.
