The 18039 marks a real turning point in the Day-Date story. Arriving at the end of the 1970s, it was among the first references to carry the caliber 3055, the movement that finally brought quickset date to Rolex's flagship. Before it, setting the date meant winding the hands around and around. After it, the Day-Date became a watch you could actually live with day to day.

This one is 18k white gold, which is already the quietest way to wear a Day-Date, and then it goes a step further with a taupe dial. It is a factory colour almost nobody encounters.
