For the Japanese market, Patek made a version of the 5066 of its own: the Japan edition, limited to 500 pieces, with a blue embossed dial in place of the usual black. It is the same 36mm Aquanaut with the sapphire caseback and the automatic caliber 330 SC, but the blue dial gives it a completely different presence.
This example wore its blue dial on an original black Patek tropical strap, a combination that makes the blue stand out even more and keeps the watch understated from a distance. It was confirmed by an Extract from the Archives.
